Tollymore Mountain Centre Redevelopment
January 2010
HAPPY NEW YEAR - and how much can happen in a year! For those of you who have been on a Tollymore course recently, I dont need to tell you how well the work is coming on. Suffice to say that we have a truly spectacular new building nearing completion! We will be running courses from our new building from April and the official launch day is the 13th May.
Facilities are fantastic, with rolling pool, training room, beautiful twin ensuite rooms, an amazing reception and dining area, vastly improved stores and drying rooms etc etc. We will be hosting a number of 'tour days' where you will be able to come and see around the building before the official opening. These dates will be posted on the website on the 18th January.
In the meantime, we will be providing a full range of courses in 2010, and between now and the end of March, we have some paddlesport courses which qualify for a CANI bursary. If you would like a copy of our 2010 calendar of courses, please email admin@tollymore.com

January 2009
Work will commence on the new centre on the 26th January. Work will commence shortly afterwards on the installation of high and low ropes courses. This is the beginning of a very exciting period in the redevelopment of Tollymore Mountain Centre.
September 2008
Glasgiven contracts have been successful in their tender for final design and build of the new centre. Over the coming couple of months we will be working closely with them to finalise the design and get the work started. Start date is the 26th January 2009 - getting closer by the day!
April 2008
Planning has been approved! We have now stgarted the process of tendering for contractors who will develop the design and build it - we hope to start work on site in Dec 08 and move into the new building in March 2010.
September 2007
The design is signed off by staff and looks great. The planning application has been submitted and we hope to have plannig permission by April 2008. We will go to tender to appoint contractors in the coming months and potentiall y work will start in early summer 2008.
July 2007
Planning and design continues! There heve been widespread consultations with locals regarding the redevelopment and with staff and users regarding the design. It is hoped that the final design will be available mid July and a planning application will be made at that stage. At present, it is hoped that construction will begin in the spring of 2008 (fingers crossed!)
January 2007
A consortium consisting of RPS Consulting Engineers, WH Stephens, Caldwell Consulting and Consarc Architecture has been appointed to design and manage the construction of the new Tollymore. We have already had initial discussions with the design team and hope to submit a planning application in three - four months. We hope to be able to provide users with outline drawings and artists impressions in the next couple of months.
November 2006
The Business case for the redevelopment of Tollymore Mountain Centre was approved by the Department of Culture Arts and Leisure (DCAL). We hope that a design team will be appointed before Christmas. It finally feels that the redevelopement of the Centre is happening, with the prospect of outline drawings being available to staff early in 2007.
