The weathercam provides a live video view from the back of Tollymore National Outdoor Centre looking South to the Pot of Legawheery, Slieve Corragh and Slieve Commedagh.    From Coastal Navigation to Mountain Skills courses – we can help you interpret what you see here. Through our skills courses, we can help you have a greater understanding of weather systems and the impacts that they might have on your chosen sport.

As you are aware the Mourne Mountains are a popular area of recreation within Northern Ireland, and therefore the Met Office provide a forecast for this region.

The Mourne Mountains weather page provides a 5 day weather forecast for many places within the Mourne Mountains and the surrounding area, featuring 3 hourly updates on weather conditions for rainfall, temperature, wind speed and wind direction.

Weather Warnings and alerts for the Mourne Mountains are also displayed during periods of severe weather from the 5 day weather forecast available for each location by clicking on a marker on the map. The Met Office warns the public and emergency responders of severe or hazardous weather which has the potential to cause danger to life or widespread disruption through their National Severe Weather Warning Service. Weather warnings are displayed for rain, snow, wind, fog and ice.

 

Current situation

As you are probably aware the current advice from the Northern Ireland Executive, Health Promotion Agency NI and Health & Safety Executive NI, as well as our expert group within Sport NI is that we cannot deliver any face to face courses for our customers including use of the Hot Rock Climbing Wall.

We know that you and many others like minded folk are very keen to get back on track with your plans to attend and complete a range of personal skills training and qualifications in a range of disciplines.

Believe us when we say we are equally keen to get outside with you and help you reach your goals and complete that journey.

How do we know? Because every day we get emails and phone calls asking when will courses resume and with every NI Executive mention of easing of restrictions the emails and phone calls are more frequent……
