Participants should be competently leading single pitch routes of very difficult / severe.
You should also be reasonably fit and comfortable on exposed crag situations.
↓ Course summary
This course will weather permitting spend much of the time on the crag. Don’t expect to be guided on this course - you will be working hard learning the difference between the single and multi-pitch crag environment.
On the crag we will cover a variety of belay and rope systems which will be useful to the multi pitch climber.
We will also look at how to avoid and deal with simple mid multi-pitch crag problems.
↓ Who is the course for?
This course is for the competent single pitch climber who wants to be given a solid and safe introduction to the skills to venture onto multi-pitch routes.
The following list is a suggestion of what you should bring. Waterproofs and rucksacks may be borrowed from our extensive stores. We advise you not to rush out and buy kit for the course, but use it as a chance to find out what would best suit your needs. You should bring the following: walking boots, waterproof trousers, waterproof jacket, warm outdoor wear (fleece is ideal), hat and gloves, day rucksack, waterproof rucksack liner (bin liner is ideal), water bottle, vaccum flask, small first aid kit, personal medication, and notebook and pen.
↓ What does my course fee include?
The course fee includes kit, equipment, in course transport, coaching, food and accommodation.
Course accommodation will be in shared twin ensuite rooms. If you would prefer not to share a room, single occupancy may be available for an additional charge.

As you are probably aware the current advice from the Northern Ireland Executive, Health Promotion Agency NI and Health & Safety Executive NI, as well as our expert group within Sport NI is that we cannot deliver any face to face courses for our customers including use of the Hot Rock Climbing Wall.
