You will need to have completed Rescue & Emergency Care Outdoor First Aid Course (16 hour) within the previous three years (i.e. it needs to be in-date) and have a thorough, working knowledge of all aspects of the REC 2 syllabus.
You will need to complete REC Advanced before being signed off as a trainer. Tollymore will deliver a REC Advanced on the 19th / 20th Feb 2022
↓ Course summary
A three day (24 hour) course, consisting of three full day, with evening sessions on Monday and Tuesday evenings. The course commences at 9:00 a.m. on Monday 21st February and will finish at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday 23rd February
The trainer programme is designed to introduce a systematic method of training candidates to provide emergency care. Topic learning and presentations intermixed with scenarios of real situations. The programme is a five step process:
Core knowledge: valid standard course • advanced course • first aid experience
Training skills: 3 day trainer (24 hours) • assignments • video assessment • external assessment
Observation: observe foundation level course • logbook for recording attendance
Supervision: Supervised training with registered trainer
Registration: Recommendation by two registered trainers • independent trainer

↓ Who is the course for?
This course is for those with a range of first aid training and considerable first aid training and practical experience, who wish to deliver the Rescue and Emergency Care First Aid scheme.
↓ What equipment do I need to bring?
There is no specific equipment list for this course. However, some of the sessions may take place outdoors, so please bring clothing to keep you warm and dry, outdoors in February!
↓ What does my course fee include?
Your course fee includes all meals (from lunch time on Monday to lunch on Wednesday), accommodation on Mon & Tue nights, use of all specialist equipment, all instruction and Assessor Registration fee.
The non residential option includes all of the above, less 2 nights bed & breakfast.

As you are probably aware the current advice from the Northern Ireland Executive, Health Promotion Agency NI and Health & Safety Executive NI, as well as our expert group within Sport NI is that we cannot deliver any face to face courses for our customers including use of the Hot Rock Climbing Wall.
