No experience needed, just bring a bucket of enthusiasm!
Tollymore National Outdoor Centre will be running Children’s Climbing classes for all abilities starting on Monday 4th October for 4 consecutive weeks.
The wall is designed to encourage maximum participation for all beginners / intermediate climbers. The aim of the evenings is to give young people the skills to set them on the road to becoming climbers. They may wish to consider joining a club or climbing with others, in the future.
At Hotrock there is a lead wall and a bouldering area. The lead wall is 9.5m high and 11m wide; the bouldering wall is 4.5m high and 10m wide. There are now also four auto-belay devices on the lead wall.
The lead wall has over 40 routes ranging from easier lines to more technical and strenuous routes through the grades.
The classes are a great opportunity for children to start a new sport, learn new skills, make friends and have fun. Children can be complete beginners and will learn all the basics of climbing; such as putting on a harness, rope work skills, body movements and different climbing terms.
For children aged 12-15 years old from beginner to intermediates
No equipment is necessary. All can be provided
The course fee includes all equipment needed (harnesses, rock shoes and ropes) and instruction.

We know that you and many others like minded folk are very keen to get back on track with your plans to attend and complete a range of personal skills training and qualifications in a range of disciplines.
Believe us when we say we are equally keen to get outside with you and help you reach your goals and complete that journey.
How do we know? Because every day we get emails and phone calls asking when will courses resume and with every NI Executive mention of easing of restrictions the emails and phone calls are more frequent……
