This Climbing Wall Development Instructor has been designed to provide a level of competence for those who are in a position to teach lead climbing skills on indoor or outdoor climbing walls and structures, with fixed protection.
The Climbing Wall Development Instructor is primarily concerned with ensuring good practice when developing leading skills, it covers the introduction, coaching and on-going development of the technical and movement skills required to lead routes. It excludes the skills associated with leading traditional and bolt protected rock climbs.
This course is for those with the relevant experience and qualifications who wish to coach others in lead climbing skills on indoor and outdoor climbing walls.
Candidates must demonstrate all relevant log book requirements including leading a minimum of grade of French 6a.
Access to climbing wall, equipment, instruction and lunch.
Your course is a one day course, so accommodation is not provided. However, we do have changing rooms, showers and lockers available for your use.
We can offer you a nights’ accommodation and breakfast either at the beginning or end of a course for an extra £26.50 per person. This is a great way to further enhance your time at Tollymore and savour the beautiful majestic setting that the Centre has to offer.
Our catering is first class, noted both for the quality and quantity of the food that we provide. Your course is catered, so you will be provided with a packed lunch for the day. You may however wish to bring your own personal snack food for use during the course. You can fill a flask with tea or coffee at the Centre if required.
